Force logon in windows 98

The resource kit book for 98 or 95 discusses how to implement it either way. There is an option to force logon to use windows. It will also lock the user out of other parts of windows. Be careful because you can lock yourself out. That is why I recommend you read the resource kit book for 98 or 95 first. Use the software "Winboost " it can enable force log in on Win98 and Me. First you need to run Registry edit. Right click on the right screen and choose new string value. This new string will be MustBeValidated exactly like the way I typed it Then right click on the new string and choose modify enter 1.

You must have a user name created on this computer and Microsoft family Logon installed. If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Then open your registry and delete the "NoLogon" key created above.

Note: Once this tweak has been implemented any subsequent users accounts that are created will inherit the 'NoLogon' value and therefore reboot when they login. To avoid this; when you first create a new user, open the key below for the newly created account name e. We cannot guarantee that problems resulting from modifications to the registry can be solved.

NL-Stitch Posted January 20, Posted January 20, Hi all, This is a question about the Windows 98 Logon. I am trying to set 2 accounts up for my Windows Jackhammer like I did in the beta using normal windows 98 logon screen, but now I am thinking of replacing the Windows 98 logon program with one of my own hopefully skinnable in the future My question is: Is it possible to replace the Windows 98 with your own logon like Netware and Dameware did in the past? By the way, is The revolutions pack currently working on a new login screen?

I found this just surfing through the posts. I did exactly like you said to do and it worked like a charm. Saves a few seconds on bootup, and one less thing to have to click on.
